On Jan 13, 2015, the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) announced a proposal to rezone parts of Geylang from Residential/Institution to Commercial/Institution. This is a proposed amendment to URA Master Plan 2014.
With the rezoning of parts of Geylang into commercial, URA will not approve any more of new residential plots. Future residents of Rezi 24 can expect a potential capital appreciation of their residential properties.
